July 13 – July 19, 2018
We are headed to Alaska!!!! July is one of the best times of the year to fish the Kenai Peninsula and we will be part of the action! Floating the river for Kings then shifting to try our hand at some Steelhead. Lodging is booked cabin style right on the river!
A huge thanks to Ben at Trophy Drifters for taking care of us and sponsoring a Military Veteran as well as Josh Chambers, a purple heart recipient, for being a pivitol part in making this trip happen! Congrats to our sponsored Veteran Cody Hibbard, a prior Army Ranger and fishing enthusist. I have no doubt we will have a blast!
Spots are all booked up. Maybe next time!

Alaska Salmon Fishing, Kenai River
Our Alaska Salmon fishing event was amazing! I met our two Veterans at the airport in Anchorage and we loaded our gear into our rental truck and off to Soldotna we went. We arrived at our cozy one room cabin at Swiftwater Suites right on the Kenai River. As we were unloading our gear other clients were pulling in Reds 20 yards from our cabin door! We joined with the already prepped rods and tackle and were catching fish within minutes of our arrival! The next day we met up with Ben Collier with Trophy Drifters for a day on the Kasilof River. A relaxing day of drifting resulted in one hook up which we ended up releasing.
The next couple days we hit the Kenai for some King Salmon and we all hooked up at least once, one of which took us about a half mile down river and 30 minutes before landing it! We took a short break to try our hand at fly fishing for rainbow trout and as quickly as we could cast we were hooking fish! The scenery, fellowship, weather, and fishing action could not be beat! We look forward to continuing our Alaska event in 2019!
